Mortimer Mouse is the Ultimate Rival, and and was a participant in the Wasteland Killing Game featured in Ronpa and Friends.

In a nefarious plot to murder the smartest in the group, his plan was discovered by a fanatical terror during a routine search of the castle. Taking countermeasures into his own hands, he becomes the second blackened after delivering two blows with a mallet to the head of the caped crusader. After being deduced as the culprit and being thwarted in a last-ditch effort to strangle their arch-nemesis at the class trial, he is found guilty and executed by MonoBulb.

Killing Game[]

Relationships[]

Mickey Mouse[]

As the self-appointed rival to the conglomerative creation of Walt Disney, Mortimer has sworn to absolution to bring Mickey down to his level by all means. Following along their earlier canon experiences, Mickey is a frequent primary target of antagonism for his antics, and takes any and all opportunity to abuse and humiliate the mouse, especially when in the presence of his girlfriend, Minnie. During Mickey's Free Time Event with Mortimer, he confirms that he despises him so immense due to his relationship with Minnie, and wishes nothing more than to separate the two of them in attempts to win the girl of his admiration, no matter how dirty his tactics may seem.

His relationship with Mickey reaches an absolute boiling point when Mortimer took all the intrigue he had acquired about the killing game and sought to finally put an end to their rivalry by putting an end to the mouse. In a letter sent to MonoBulb, Mortimer indicated his intent to murder Mickey by strangulation while also catching Chip in the crossfire, a plan that would be foiled by the intervention of Darkwing Duck, who would wound up as a substituted option for his scheme. During this time, he had no interactions with Mickey and kept his usual snidely attitude to a minimum, and even uncharacteristically distanced himself from him for much of the second chapter, likely in fear his cover would be blown. However, his undoing would be at the hands of Mickey himself, seeing through his pursuit to pin Fenton as the culprit, something that aggravated Mortimer to the point of losing his composure and attempting to finish the job by strangulating Mickey on the spot within the courtroom. In his last words to the group, he asks them to do what he failed to do, and kill Mickey in his absense.

His antagonism against Mickey had such an adverse effect on his mental health that his apparition was the subject of one of the nightmares Mickey would later experience in Chapter 5.

Minnie Mouse[]

As the object of his attraction and the romantic interest of his rival, Mortimer has made frequented attempts at stealing away Mickey's girlfriend by coercing and wooing her, of which Minnie has long since burnt his bridge. While taking a break from their relationship as they pursued opportunities in different cities, Minnie and Mortimer were noted to have dated for a couple weeks, a relationship that ended disastrously.

However, with all of this considered, Minnie was one of, if not, the only people in the killing game Mortimer saw as equal to him, and therefore garnered his respect. In an unusual break from his crass and sarcasm, Mortimer made sure to keep Minnie in the know about new developments involving MonoBulb, in the event that she asked. In addition, he made sure to permit Minnie to everyone's undivided attention when speaking to the group, something he also opted to rub in Mickey's face.

Chip Pinetree[]

Chip and Mortimer didn't share many interactions prior to Chapter 2, but were noted to be amongst the few people committed to incarcerating Goofy for his murder. In reality, however, Mortimer was gathering his intel on everything on the Killing Game, and Chip's willingness to lead the group to the truth became something Mortimer sought to snuff out in his pursuit to escape the castle. After the motive involving an unknown person, Mortimer, planning to commit a murder amongst the group, Mortimer found great fortune in Chip volunteering himself to scour the halls for threats, and encouraged him to assume the mantle at his falsified peril. After Darkwing's body is discovered in the Costume Room, Mortimer himself volunteers to assist Chip in his investigation in attempts to fulfill what he promised to MonoBulb about his plan, and tries to deter Chip's judgement onto Fenton as the prime suspect. However, through Mickey's rationale, Chip is quick to learn about the meanings behind his actions.

Dale Pinetree[]

While the two of them shared the rare interaction, it is possible that Mortimer discovered newfound respect for the younger brother during the events of Chapter 2. When him and Chip were paired together in the same social circle by Minnie, he was taken aback when Dale threatened him if he were to hurt Chip, and he also applauded Dale for choosing to separate from Chip by teaming up with the other volunteers to patrol the halls for any signs of impending murder. However, it is equally as likely this was a ruse as an attempt to become closer to Chip, as in reality it was his motive to murder his detective brother for his prowess in the enchanted trial for Pete's murder.

Darkwing Duck[]

Even though Darkwing became the eventual victim of his murder plan, Mortimer held no ill-will towards Darkwing, and was never shown to have any interactions with the caped crusader, indicating his murder was concocted in the moment after being caught red-handed in the Ball Room.

In the non-canon Halloween bonus story, Darkwing apparently hasn't left many a moment unoccupied with Mortimer feeling his fury from within the afterlife, something Mortimer has responded in tow with his usual apathy and snide behavior, potentially even goading him along at times. This causes Pete to set his sights on distancing the two as a top priority during the Halloween party.

The Three Caballeros[]

Mortimer has mentioned directly to the Caballeros that he finds their music irritating, most notably for Donald's shrill, ear-piercing vocals. His disdain for the Caballeros extended out towards his hatred for its members, which became one of many reasons for his apathy towards the cast, leading him to exclude himself from all the group's social gatherings. He was also quick to pin the blame on them for Pete's murder as a collaborative effort once Panchito's missing pistols were discovered as potential murder weapons, and was keen to shift attention to Panchito numerous times in the enchanted trials he took part in.

Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera[]

Mortimer finds distress in the heralded hero of Duckburg being haphazard and clumsy at times, and was greatly alarmed when the GizmoSuit shot off a rocket rather than his usual gizmos, something Gyro attempted to give advanced, unheard notice toward. As such, he feels above Fenton after he takes his suit off, being the lone member of the group threatening to reveal his true identity as the one behind GizmoDuck. During the second enchanted trial, Mortimer took ample opportunity to bury Fenton as the killer of Darkwing Duck, when in reality the murder was his duty all along.

Peg-Leg Pete[]

As one of the early antagonistic dissidents within the group, Pete and Mortimer were noted to rub elbows with one-another on several occasions. When Mortimer threatened to reveal the identity of GizmoDuck to the world, Pete resorted to physical confrontation by squeezing his shoulder, ensuring if he didn't keep the secret that he'd deal with Pete personally. Therefore, it is likely that Mortimer sought to seize the opportunity to kill once Pete became the first victim.

This relationship continued into the non-canon Halloween bonus story, when Mortimer was shown to be a constant troublemaker, something Pete had to account for while preparing the Halloween party to ensure he wouldn't start something up with Darkwing as he was cited to have done prior. Despite this, Mortimer has continued to show respect for Pete as the most authoritative figure to vent his concerns towards.

The Killing Game[]

Despite much of his time being dedicated to the slandering, smearing, and destroying of Mickey and his love life, Mortimer took the aspect of the killing game more seriously than others did, and was quick to alertness about anything and everything MonoBulb. He very quickly understood the large scope and severity of the scenario, and made ample sure to be in the know about its intricacies, being one of the first to meet with MonoBulb for the first motive reveal, and confirmed with MonoBulb later that his hostages were let go of safely and procedurally following Pete's murder. He was also the one to confer with MonoBulb about the procedure of the enchanted trial. Once he was familiar with all of the Killing Game's aspects, he was quick to inform MonoBulb about his plan to kill, and enlisted his help to ensure it would proceed without a hitch, learning from him about the hidden passageway to the Costume Room.
